My name is Janyll Perez, owner/founder of Maternity Unscripted. I am a Mother/Baby, NICU, and Lactation Consultant registered nurse, who enjoys helping and educating families. I am a member of New York Lactation Consultant Association (NYLCA) and the International Lactation Consultants Association (ILCA).

I have a passion for all things related to women's health, empowerment and advocacy. After becoming a mom in 2017, the idea for Maternity Unscripted came to me. It is everything I wish I would have had when writing my own script as a mom.

Maternity Unscripted gives caregivers the resources and tools that will help them to take charge of their health. Most importantly, it encourages them to speak openly and freely on all aspects of postpartum, without judgement. I use a team-oriented approach in order to collaborate on a plan of care that works for the entire family.

I have been in your shoes and know firsthand what its like . So, let me teach the tools to help you bring out the confidence and become the best caregiver you always dreamed of being.

My name is Danielle Quercia. I am a Mother/Baby nurse at a Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) and a Lactation consultant. I have always considered myself an advocate for women especially when it comes to their reproductive health and well-being. I obtained my Nursing degree from Adelphi University, and I have been working as a Mother baby nurse since 2018.

I am very passionate about all things Mom and baby. Breastfeeding is one of those things that I enjoy helping and educating families about. I’m here to help you and your baby have an amazing experience. It is my belief that every mom and baby pair deserve the opportunity to have a successful breastfeeding relationship. This may end up looking a variety of ways. No mom or baby should ever feel shame for the way their story plays out.I am an aunt to five amazing nephews and two nieces. I have helped and encouraged my sisters to breastfeed through the hardest couple of weeks of having a newborn. It is my hope that I can assist women in reaching the goal they have set for themselves, and answer any questions with the most up to date, evidence based, information that is available.

Jonelyn V. Santiago BSN, RNC-MNN, IBCLC

My name is Jonelyn Santiago and I have been working as a Certified Maternal and Newborn nurse since 2013. I received my BSN in 2009. Aside from working as a bedside nurse, I also got an experience working in a very busy OB/GYN office. When I started working in my current hospital, which is designated as Baby Friendly, my passion in working with mother and baby dyads increased, and I decided to become a Board-certified Lactation consultant.

As an IBCLC, I am here to support you and your baby’s needs with regards to breastfeeding/ chest feeding, depending on the method of your choice. And as a Certified Maternal and Newborn nurse, I am here for you to share my knowledge and skills regarding postpartum care and newborn care. I am here to assist you in the first few weeks of your journey into parenthood, whether you are a first-time parent or a mom of multiples. In addition to working with families, I always stay up to date with the newest evidence based practices in our field, by attending trainings and conferences.

On a personal note, I am a mother of 4 children,  who were all breastfed. I am married to my college sweetheart who is also a nurse. You can just imagine how busy my household is, but this is what keeps me going every day. I love this kind of busy, and just seeing my kids healthy, safe, happy and full of life, makes my life complete.
